"Lamb Farm" by Danny Lamb

This photo is one of my favorites.  This was taken from my house on a hill looking down onto the farm.  This is pretty much my whole farm except for the chicken coops and hay fields.  There are 23 of 26 cows in this one photo.  On the right you can see my hay barn with my tractor parked inside.

If you look past all my dad’s junk you will see my hay barn.  Inside my hay barn there is a tractor.  This is an awesome tractor to drive.  It has 90 horsepower with 115 through the power take off. It is four wheel-drive, so it’s almost impossible to get stuck.  For hay there was over a 1,000 square bales and only about 20 round bales.

This photo was taken at the barn.  It doesn’t look like it but these cows are in our catch pen.  This pen works vary good to catch cows.  This black cow standing in front was born on our farm.  Then we gave it to the farm down the road because we didn’t want black cows any more.  The reason why it’s back is because they couldn’t afford to pay to feed it and it started to starve.  So my dad bought it back.

These are my pigs.  Although they look to be old they are only 5 months old.  The biggest one will be around 200 lb. - our biggest pig yet.  We haven’t been raising pigs for that long, this was only our forth batch and I thought we were doing well.  The reason why we are stopping is that we can’t afford the grain and we are making very little profit.  But we will still raise them in the winter.

This is my favorite cow. His name is Fluff.  The reason why I named him that is because he has a fluffy head.  He is probably the friendliest cow we have had in a long time.  He will let you pet him sometimes but he was very camera shy so I couldn’t get a good close-up of him without him hitting the camera out of my hands.
