"Littering at Hartford High School" by Justina Terino

This picture is of a soda can at Hartford High School on Friday March 23, 2012. As I was walking around Hartford I noticed a ton of trash on the ground, I thought I should alert people about this problem through my photo story. This picture is taken in the parking lot by the bus garage.

This picture is of a McDonald fry box by the tennis court. The litterbug who dropped this instead of walking over to a recycle bin is hurting our planet. They’re letting this box soak up our sun, destroy our planet, and help global warming. Our town has a recycling center for people to use it and take advantage of it.

Now we’re back to the parking lot near the bus garage. I am so happy to see people keeping what ever they need clean with a nice thick blue paper towel, good hygiene! I’m still not particularly pleased seeing this littering happening.

Not only are the kids at Hartford high school getting into the bad habits of littering. There getting into the bad habits of tobacco use. This picture shows a “Grizzly Mint” spitting tobacco can with the top popped off.  Spitting/chewing tobacco can cause serious mouth cancer, or more.

Someone must be at the store buying a new mouth guard to protect there teeth, it seems as though they missed place theirs coming off of the sports field in the parking lot! Whoops. Always check behing you to make sure you don’t drop your trash. Many little things can make a big difference!
